1. Make frequent updates
2. Work on SEO and traffic generation
3. Check the affiliate links (don't want to make mistakes there!)
4. Don't expect overnight profits - it takes at least 6 months to see the results.

What are your steps to become successful?

I would add:

* learn about forex (or whatever other products/services you promote) as much as you can.

* set an achievable goal and plan every step. Your day should have a shedule and order like any other business. Be simple, specific and measure your ability to reach the goal. Do you want to spend more time with your family? Do you want to earn $500 per month? $1,000? $5,000? Do you want to be on the first page for certain set of keywords? etc

* look around and analyse! What is your competition up to? What is so attractive about their sites? What can you do better?

I have just realized one thing. It is important not to overlearn. When you just start out, you feel the need to learn everything. You absorb all the information and instead of helping you, this actually paralizes you completely.

I think it is important to learn the basics in the beginning to get you going. Slowely you can increase your knowledge and improve. You cannot become a pro without experience.

It is always beneficial to keep things as simple as possible. I use the KISS(Keep it Simple Stupid) Strategy in order to achieve my goals. I stick to the basics in affiliate marketing because overdoing a particular thing may harm the reputation of your affiliate program.

I have couple of tips for beginners:

- Brainstorm for a good domain name!

- Join social networking. You simply cannot ingore it now a days!

- Don't stop learning. Affiliate marketing requires you to constantly update what you seem to know. Since internet never sleeps, new things are popping out daily. You have to stay on top of things.
