Late payments can be incredibly frustrating; however your feelings get really hurt when the money does not show up at all! What can possibly be more disappointing than not receiving the honestly earned payments from an affiliate program?! Maybe the fact that the ipad2 cannot replace your laptop, but that's not what this article is about!
Before you erase every possible trace of the affiliate program in question from your sight, mind and, obviously your website, you should consider the following steps first:
1. Contact Your Affiliate Manager
Not all missed payments are the programs fault. The first thing you should do is to get in touch with the affiliate manager via email, phone, skype etc - whichever means of communication you prefer.
Mention the problem and ask whether the emails/invoices/payment requests are getting through. If you are using outlook, you can mark the letter as "highly important" and you can also ask to get an automatic notification once your email has been opened.
The reasons for missed payment can be miscommunication, technical problems, holidays, minimum commission requirement and many more. In most cases, you have been worried and angry for nothing. Your payment is either on the way or will be made next month.
2. Show The Proof
If your affiliate manger is unresponsive, it's time to take things further. Find other email addresses you can contact on the affiliate program's website. Send an informative letter with screenshot of your commissions and the copy of your contract.
Don't forget to mention that you are looking forward receiving a reply as soon as your email has been read.
3. Spread the Word
If everything else fails, it has been several months without payment and there are no attempts to contact you back, you have every right to get pissed!
Send a letter to the affiliate program with your plans to file a lawsuit. If it is worth it, contact a lawyer and discuss your legal rights and possible actions towards the guilty party.
Most importantly, share your experience with other forex affiliates, so no one else fall victim of a no-pay. Find forex affiliate forums and websites, write down your story and do not sugar-coat it!
And remember that you can also contact us and submit a complaint here at ForexAffiliatez! We will do our best to help out and resolve the situation.
